Sophia and Bill are a couple I recently connected. What’s intriguing about Sophia is that she had joined Misty River Introductions around three years ago, with specific criteria in mind. She was looking for matches who were over 6 feet tall, university-educated (preferably with an advanced degree), and good-looking. Despite having several individuals who met these criteria, she didn’t find anyone she clicked with at the time.
However, when she met Bill this time around, shortly after rejoining Misty River, it took me by surprise! Curiosity got the better of me, so I called Sophia and asked, “Sophia, I’m curious, what’s different this time?” I had believed we had previously matched her with great guys. She chuckled and replied, “It wasn’t you, it was me. I wasn’t ready back then, and I wouldn’t have liked anyone you suggested. Looking back, I realize many of those men from three years ago would have been a good fit.”
I was genuinely thrilled for her and relieved. It’s disheartening to think that someone might be considered “unmatchable.” Not only did she have a promising match in her future, but she also exhibited self-reflection and gratitude.
As a professional matchmaker and dating coach, I understand that timing plays a crucial role in finding love. I also recognize that there isn’t just one “perfect match” for everyone.
